please help i don't know if my graphics are right something seems wrong....

I have cat 4.4 installed i have a p4 3.0ghz ati 9800 pro vid card and 1 gig ram the trees seem to shimmer alot mipmap is on 4 and the shadows under my plane blink every now and then. I did reinstall my video driver hopefully i did it the right way add remove programs and then reinstall. I never in stalled omega drivers or ever had any other video card in this machine so i did not use driver cleaner.

1. trees shake and some buildings on arrival
fps seems to be getting worse and worse but not exactly sure yet
2.shadows are blinking
3.i see clouds drawing ahead of me but only when on the ground still can't figure this out. I do have active sky with the latest update.

b.t.w. i did not install service pack 1 do i absolutly need it.

I have everything pretty much on max even u.t. ai at 100%
Any help whatsoever please help something doesn't feel right.

Well, the only thing I can suggest is completley reinstalling the sim. Then try it without any add-ons - if the problem is not there then it was a boot or add-on problem. Then add one add-on at a time, and try it after every one. If the problem comes back, then it is a problem with the add-on you just installed.

However, if the problem is there after you re-installed without any add-ons then there is something wrong with your hardware. Can't really help you after that.

Thanks it seems i realized more or less what it can be i have to run in full screen other wise its to shaky alot of jaggies. So i have to force my video card basically hi resolution and full screen. I'm playing with some settings and its getting better. Thanks for your help.

From my experience of reformatting/reinstalling windows to work with a new 9800Pro, and running various games/sims with it, I would highly recommend running Windows Update and bringing your OS up to the levels that DirectX 9.0b and the 4.4s are looking for.

Once I did that, all the various glitches seemed to disappear. And with the system specs you're showing you shouldn't have any problems with FS9.
