Hi,

I only use FS2002 as game in my computer

My system is an Pentium III 866, 128MB and I use a GeFoce2 MX 32MB. I have the chance of buying a second hand GeForce4 MX440 for 40 Euro (51$) but I´m afraid to spend the money because the bottle neck for the Frames might be my system. I am also willing to expand memory to 512Mb.

Before spending the money I need to know:

1. Will buying the GeForce4 MX440 improve my frames per second?

2. Which kind of graphic cards would be the maximun for my sistem without throwing away my money because system would not feed the card fast enough for It´s perfomance?

Many thanks for your help.

Answers:
1. I doubt the MX440 will improve your fPS, since a Geforce4MX is practically the same as a Geforce2MX...

2.I think the 9000pro or an ati 8500 would do nice for your system, performs almost as good as a ti4200...

suggestions
upgrade your whole system...buying new components for an old system is a waste of money...come back if you plan on buying a new system, we can help :)

1. No don't buy it, I would suggest saving for a new system. If you could scrounge up $1000 you can build a top of the line system.

2. An ATI Radeon 9800 pro. Of course you would be spending a lot of money but you will see the largest performance increase.

Like I said, you should stick with your current system and save for a new one. It's time to move on to a new computer!

You really need a complete upgrade, but certainly top of the line is unnecessary. There are certain components/features that are almost absolute must have, and highly depend on your motherboard of choice.
The mobo is more important now than ever before.
If you were to stay with intel, I would get at least a P4 2.4C (800fsb), 512mb(2x256 kit) ddr400, and a motherboard that supports the 800fsb and dual ddr. That's a fine platform on which to build a great gaming pc. From there I'd go with at least a GF4 4200ti or ATI 9600, and a 400watt power supply.

Thanks boys for your help.

Seeing I must make a higher investment I think I'll wait a little. The good thing is that although I will have to stick for a while to my slow 6 to 11 fps with my sistem, I can keep up learning to fly and Navigate as good.
