I just acquired a new computer from Dell and when I ordered it, I also ordered a copy on fs2004.

FS2004 stalls my computer when I put in disk 4 during the installation process, normally at 69% or 70% completed.

I have tried both a full and express install and it happens each time.

Any advice?

Computer is a Inspiron 5150 laptop with P4 3.06 and 512mb ram, 80 gig hard drive. Yes, I know it is not the best machine for flight simming, but I have to get work done also.

What condition is disk 4 in?Have you tried cleaning the disk? Also, do you get any error messages? How much disk space do you have left?

I have about 64 gigs left, so space is not an issue. The disk is perfect condition, no visible scratches and has been cleaned several times.

I do not get any error messages, just a frozen computer. When I ctrl-alt-del, it is listed as not responding.

One time, during installation, the program installed upto 79%, freezing the system while installing the secnery files for Tokyo.

Most of the time time, it freezes around 68-70%.

Fortunately, enough of the software has been installed so that I can use the FS9 unistall program.

Hi, tmric1

This issue can be related to your video card (?) or your OS (?).
