Help - Please Stop the Blurring!!!

Hi Folks,

I have a nice system but I am suffering from the common blurring of textures. I am trying to make sense of all of this but I am struggling.

Here are my systems specs. Can someone help me solve this problem. Buying a new video card is fine with me. Anything, to get rid of the blurring textures. I basically only fly at night now because of the blurring textures seen during the day. Bummer.

Dell XPS
3 GHz w/ 800MHz front side bus/HT Technology
1024 MB DDr SDRAM at 400MHz
128MB GeForce FX 5200
120GB ATA Hard Drive
CRT Monitor

My sliders are moderately set.

FX5200 = major bottleneck in that system.

That system wants a muscle card.

Get the highest Nvidia or ATI you can afford for that box.

You need a new video card. FS2004 is more dependent on the graphics card than any previous version. Therefore you should put a monster in there.

Do the reasearch and you could buy something sweet that will make you not want to look back on what you have sent now. Your graphics card is holding you back if you upgrade you will see good frame rates with every slider to the right.

What kind of filtering are you using? I don't have a GF card, but I use 8X anisotropic filtering on my Radeon which cures all the blurs. Even 4X aniso = no blurries.
