My PC:

Intel Pentium IV 2.0GHz
512mb 333DDR RAM
80GB HDD
ATI Radeon 8500 128mb

And other goodies.

My problem is this:

In BOTH FS2002 and FS2004, I can't stay in an external view for more than 10 seconds (sometimes) and up to a minute (rarely) without my computer freezing, and the display showing up as random colored dots, or random vertical lines of color. Seeing as how upgrading to the new Catalyst 4 drivers, and even trying the newest Omega drivers doesnt help, I am turning to you guys for advice. Its a pain because I have done several long flights (from an hour to several hours in length), only to switch to the external view (to watch my flare and landing) and have my computer freeze and have to be rebooted.

Are you overclocking that 8500?...with the colored dots randomly showing up..it seems like a heat issue..
also, before you reinstall your drivers, delete the old ones using a software called "Driver Cleaner", then try install the new drivers
