This one, http://www.snogard.de/index.php?kategorieId=91&artikelId=VGA128-ATI294 , is probably your best bet for a good budget video card.

That would be a good card...just make sure that when you recieve it that it doesn't use that TSOP(rectangular shaped) ram that the picture shows, but instead BGA (square shaped)Ram...
though it seems like on error on the page since it does state that it comes clocked at 400/300(600)

Yes, it is a good card but don't spend your money on outdated components. This card has been discontinued by ATI and replaced by the 9600XT which users new manufacturing techniques and can be overclocked. I don't know how much you are paying for the 9600 Pro but take a look at the 9600XT and compare the difference in price. I also recommend NVidia's 5900XT which will out perform both of these cards for the same amount of money. Do your homework on the web and don't rely of just the forum to make your decision, its not just about money.

Hi,
After looking at your website, and realising that prices are so much lower i Germany than they are in Blighty i realised you could get a pretty high end Nvidia card which at the moment are better than ATi.
For example MSI's 'FX5700LE-TD256' It is a 256MB, GeForce FX 5700 LE, DDR, DVI, TV-Out, and all of that for 139.90Euro. I don't know what the ATi card you were looking (there are lots of 9600s! I also don't know how good the Nvidia card is ( as i don't have one), however from many forums i have learnt that this particular card is very good, and you get 256Mb on board RAM!
I would say go with MSI's 'FX5700LE-TD256' as i think it is higher spec'ed and better value for money than the outdated ATi card you suggested.

Capt,
This is an easy decision, however, you need to find another 30 euros in order to finalize your purchase. Just get a 5900XT, it will smoke the 9600 Pro and 9600XT, nothing else to talk about. I know a lot of people here love the 9600 but it has met its match when running against the 5900XT.
Here is an article talking about the 5900XT:

I'm telling you right now, don't waste any more time and don't listen to anyone recommending a 9600 which performs slower than the 5900XT for the same price.

A week ago I posted a message asking advice for a new PC. There were reactions and I'm very thankful for that. But to be honest........ I really can't make a decision about the video card. I was planning to purchase the ATI Radeon 9600 PRO 256MB, but now I'm a bit confused.
The thing is that I can only buy the pc from the next shop: www.snogard.de. If you look at 'Grafikkarten' you'll see the possibilities I have.
Being a student means having budgets. My budget for the Video card is about 150 Euros.
Who can help me with making the final decision?!
