Heard that the 9800 Pro is really good. A video card is what it suggests ; It will improve your game graphics and performance. Also depending on which type of card you get, some have options like DVI/TV-OUT, CATV/VIVO ,ect. In my opinion, if you aren't looking to boost your frame rates in all games you have (not just FS9), it's not worth it to spend over $300 on a video card.

I went for it and bought an FX5950 just before New Year, the only differences you will see with the card in FlightSim are nicer visuals, incredibly smooth edges and a couple more FPS if you run all your filtering through the new card instead of the sim. From what I gather, the 9800 is essentially the same as mine but a different manufacturer, so don't expect the earth!
FlightSim looks great and my PC seems faster on heavily populated graphics, in other games it's like having a new PC, DVD and TV playback is faultless and ViVo is a great tool. If you only intend to use the card for FS I would say you are wasting your money. If you play other games or use the PC as a media centre as I now do, go for it.
