Hi all,
Just got my brand new ATI-built Radeon 9600 XT. :D You wouldn't believe how close I was to buying a Sapphire 9600 XT, but I found another 25 bucks and bought myself the ATI-built card instead.
I'm very pleased with the purchase. Except for one issue.
The picture is perfect, the quality, sharpness, performance, etc, really blows away my old TNT2 card. (That card was still pretty good but it's definitely beat by the 9600 XT).
Except that I have this LINE running down the left side of my screen. It's not a solid line, more like a faint lighter area, which isn't a big deal on white backgrounds, but if say flying at night in FS2002...this line on the left of the screen is very distracting. What's more interesting is that it is actually captured by screenshots.
I thought it might be the monitor being somewhat incompatible with the new card. But if I can capture this line in a screenshot, then I definitely know that the monitor isn't the issue...at least I think so.
I'm running the new 9600 XT on ATI's new Catalyst 3.10 drivers. This faint line can be seen in every instance...it doesn't matter what is open, even the desktop, the line is there. And again, it's not truly a solid line, but rather lighter area that runs verticle.
I'm going to post a couple screenshots...but because of the 100K limit, it might be very hard to see what I'm talking about. Still, I'll do my best to show it to you:

Again, I apologize that it's so hard to see. When you have to shrink the files like this it doesn't help much.
The line on the second image is easier to see. But you have to look closely. On the left side. On the image the line is only a few pixels wide. On my actual screen, though, it's a full centimeter wide. Again, you'll have to look close to see it. Sorry about that.
Do you know of a setting I can play with to fix this line? It's causing the left side of my screen to look faded, which is annoying over a dark background. Or could it be the drivers?
I'd hate to RMA this new card over that...I dont though unless its completely unfixable. Everything else is fantastic.
