View Full Version : 53.03/ 52.16 drivers..."application controlled" or not?

I originally asked this in reply to a post at the fs2004 forum...before I remembered it should go here.

My apologies.

I'm using the nVidia 52.16 drivers, and have them set to "allow application" to control the AF and AA. Has anyone noticed an improvement doing it the other way? If setting AF & AA on the card
settings, what settings need to be unchecked/changed in the game settings?

Thanks.

A little better quality and a little more fps. And I do mean a little...maybe hardly noticeable. The only advantage, at least for me, is that I can have AA and AF on all the time since I play other games as well.

Jasho,

Do you have to "disable" AF and AA in the game, and if so do you just uncheck "anti-aliasing" and set "filtering" to "none"?

Thanks!

You know...actually I asked that same question in this thread and am still waiting for some clarification:

However, to be on the safe side, go into the game and uncheck the AA. The "filtering" selection in the game is different than the AF that is on the card I believe. So, you could actually leave the filtering in the game to "trilinear" and set the AF on the card as well.

Jasho,

For some reason, with my system, it is MUCH better when "allow application" is used. I tried disabling AA in FS9 and it was very ugly. (see my other thread here).
