Train-Sim.com seems more popular than Flightsim.com. Can't log on to Train-sim.com as all nodes are being used. Can log straight on to Flightsim.com

Could just be the timing of your log in.

Might also be more nodes here then at trainsim.com.

Plus, Train-Sim.Com is the only site where freeware seems to be available. Where FS has several major sites. Then you have to look at the massive file sizes in multiple parts. The entire planet has to log on to only one avaialable site to get trains and routes.
On the other hand, I often see an aircraft I'd like to try here and then go to another site to download it instead of logging on here.

Yeah, the downloads tend to be faster (for me) over @ avsim, but I still download more over here (1st class membership, I get no higher than 80k/sec with my adsl on campus here with Getright)

lol I could never figure out why some people geta kick out of driving trains on a computer. basically just sit there and brake or accelerate.

I get a kick out of it!
You've got to deal with speed limits, stopping distances, signals, braking force, slack, etc. Points to change and get onto the right track, and everything. It looks easy, but get down to the brass tacks and it's actually rather hard...

The funny thing is, my wife looks at me and cannot figure out how I can fly on a computer....its all in perspective.

I drive the Steam Trains which are quite a challenge, which require that you use a ballance of reverser and regulator without loseing steam pressure. You have also got to make sure you put the right amount of coal on the fire, if to much you kill the fire and if not enought the fire dosen't produce enought heat to maintain steam pressure. At the moment I'm driving the NLW Big Boy.

Well, in difficulty, yes.
But in enjoyment, never...

I enjoy Train Simulator. I'm more of a switch yard guy though.
But so far, I haven't broken out in a sweat trying to stop my train in stormy weather with a cross wind.

I like hot freight on the highline. And yes, I've sweated over stopping a 400odd axle consist before a signal, etc.
