Had to reinstall windows and fs2004 all went well as usual. Problem is, when ever I start to move an a/c (doesn't matter which one) when I retard the throtle, it doesn't go to idle. It stops about 20 percent of the way from the bottom. Doen't matter what airport or what plane does the same thing. No new addons or joystick (it is a thrustmaster topgun fox 2)nor any equipment new. All items worked as they should before the reinstall. Never happened before. Any thoughts. Thank you for your time and help.

Have you calibrated your joystick after the reinstall?

Yes, I did that several times. If I hit the F1 key, the throttle drops back to idle. The sim does respond to the keyboard correctly. The joystick is a usb port. Thanks for your reply.

Donald

I had the same problem where the throttle didn't retard completely (nor go to full throttle either).

I found that going to 'aircraft/sensitivities' and clicking on default settings, put it right.

Only one prob I found was that you have to re-assign a few of your yoke assignments which is not great deal. I was just happy to get the throttle correct.

Just tried your suggestion and it works fine. I reset to defaults and it works as advertised. I went back in and readjusted the settings in the advanced set up for sensitivities and they now work as before. Thanks for the heads up. After all these years using this I still find helpful info here on the forum. I just bought FSX so here we go again. Will be keeping fs 2004 though, at least until (if) I can use all my aircraft and sceneries in fsx. Thanks again.
