FS2002 starts the vapor trails at 30,000 ft. I notice that FS9 starts them around 23,000 ft.
Is there any way to edit the altitude at which vapor trails start/end in FS9? I don't think you can do it in FS2002.

Hey Mike,
After just getting all my contrail stuff to work again this weekend, I know that my contrails appear based on temperature setting. I have my temp set at -25, so whatever altitude I am at contrails start at -25 regardless. I use a utility by Markus Brunner that allows you to set this temp to whatever you'd like it to be, but you can manually change it in the fs9.cfg file. I believe the entry is under "general engine data", or something like that. It should be easy to spot since it will have a temp setting with a -27 or whatever it is currently set to in your file.
Hopefully this will help you, let me know.
Good Luck!

Hi Neil - thanks for the info. Temp, huh, rather than altitude? OK.

You can set the altitude too.
I don't remember how(I'm not at my FS PC), but I think AI_Contrails will tell you how.
Just thought I would throw in my 2 cents:-)
