Am trying to learn (on line) instrument flying and I seem to find info on subject but it's usually on flying the big ones. I am just getting feet wet and I am flying the 182's and baron 58 and I dont seem to be learning. Just flew a flight, shown in Computer Pilot, from Salzburg (Lows) to Innsburck (Lowi). Had it programmed best I could for ILS on 26 using 26 frequencyand all else I could find with no luck. I cancelled AP on approach and hand landed with great set down. Would anyone care to program a flight using the info given here or on what is in Aug. 06 issue? I believe I can learn more that way than the piece meal inso given so far. I do the best I can such as putting 111.1 in Nav 1 and clicked on Nav on Nav/Gps switch on dash and cheked ap nav and apr on selections at bottome of stack. Any help sure appreciated.
Thanks

I would start by learning some NAV Basic's. Start out in a single prop and learn how to Navigate from VOR to VOR. Learn to track NDB's. Learn the basics of ILS approaches. Try to fly some flight plans without the Auto Pilot or the GPS. Just use the radio's and the VOR/OBS. Practice nailing altitudes, airspeed's, heading's, decent rate's, rolling out on a heading and all that stuff. Learn to properly fly the Pattern and so on...........
Here are a few thing's that I find helpful :

http://avstop.com/AC/FlightTraingHandbook/RadioAidstoNavigation.html
http://www.navfltsm.addr.com/index.htm
Hope this helps. It's a blast.
