Hi All,

Im trying to write the flightplans for Ozjets new Norfolk Island-Sydney service. This operates only three days a week. My question is can I just write the days in the weekly flightplan eg. 3/04:10@3/07:05,6/04:10,@6/07:05,0/04:10,@0/07:05 these are just a example of what Im talking about. Or do I have to add all days to make it work and if so how do I do it so the aircraft sits on the apron all day on Mon,Tue,Thurs,Fri.

Any help would be great
Regards
Mark

I have never written weekly flight plans but im willing to bet that all you have to worry about is those 3 days that they do fly. Im sure someone with weekly flight plan experience will come along soon though. I'm looking forward to the answer to your question as well.

But good luck with it anyway.

Yes, it will work corretly by just inserting the days you want. The only problem with this is that on the days between it will just sit at the airport it arrives at.

Depends on how many you want to do and how much space you have at the arrival airport but in the past I've had to make a fictitious departure to a fictitous airport just to get rid of it. Otherwise, what you're doing is just fine.

Oops, should have read all of your post. You don't have a problem with it sitting there, it's what you're trying to achieve, right?

So, as I said, what you're doing is just fine.

Allan....how about an example of a weekly flight plan using just 3 days of the week, please. We would like to see how it is listed.

Hi,

What you write should work fine. However, most aircraft will go somewhere else on the days they don't fly to Norfolk Island. Try to find other Ozjets flights for them to fly on the off days.

Hope this helps,

Tom,

Ozjet are now operating these Norfolk Island-Sydney flights for Qantas. Apart from this Ozjet are basically a charter airline after failing to break into the Sydney-Melbourne route. I don't mind leaving the aircraft on Norfolk Isl. 4 days a week I never fly there, if it was occupying a gate at Sydney for 4 days I would have added some fictitious routes.

I wrote the plan like this,
AC#116,VH-OZQ,10%,WEEK,IFR,0/00:45,@0/03:10,320,F,333,YSSY,0/04:10,@0/07:05,310,F,334,YSNF,3/00:45,@3/03:10,300,F,333,YSSY,3/04:10,@3/07:10,290,F,334,YSNF,6/00:45,@6/03:10,280,F,333,YSSY,6/04:10,@6/07:10,270,F,334,YSNF

Not sure if it works as I had to work but I will have a look today and see if 'Aussie 333' heads for Sydney.

This flightplan works, it leaves Norfolk Island 3 days a week as written above. Now I know this works it will be a massive help when it comes it things like Australian Air Express Cargo which fly mainly Monday thru Thursday.

Hi Harold.

I'm sorry but for some reason I lost the automatic notification and didn't know you'd made the request until this minute.

Has your request now been answered or would you still like one?

By the way I've generated countless flight plans (I still prefer to call them flight schedules) for many different airlines (mainly UK). Is there anything else I can provide for you?

I'm turning the auto notification back on now.

Regards,

Allan
