Calling all gauge designers....

Hey. I visit here reguraly but this is my first post. I have started a site called Plane Insane (http://planeinsane.net.tc) and I want to have a large section to download individual gauges. I specifically wanted to have a lot of general aviation gauges, as I know Avsim has more gauges suited for airliners rather than smaller GA planes. If you have some gauges that you could upload, please do. Just zip it all into one big zip file and I'll package them individually (or however you want).

Hi,

Nice idea, but I have to warn you to stay clear of Microsoft - they do not allow their gauges to be offered for download. There was a similar site some years ago which faded out of existence after MS forced them to withdraw all MS(related) gauges from their site.

Frtiz, thanks for the heads-up. I only plan to have unique gauges on my site, not any default gauges by MS. just gotta get some more files :)

This would be a valuable source of gauges that are lost or not included as a part of new aircraft submissions. I have found at times that when adding a new plane, some of the gauges are not part of the package. This could be because the designer assumes that the gauges that he uses are universal and the simmer downloading the model has the included gauges in his folder or just an oversight.

People missing gauges could possible submit a request for his missing gauges and a fellow simmer could provide it for him/her.

Don, thats a great idea. I have started a new forum for people looking for specific gauges to get help. It's called the Gauge Shop in the forums. Hopefully if anybody needs a gauge, they will ask.
