View Full Version : Google Earth - Flight Tracking

I try to remember .... I thought that I read some weeks ago in the flightsim.com an announcement that with Google Earth + FSUIPC it is possible to track the flight position within a Google Earth Window.
I also thought I saved the information but .... can not find it.
Is somebody able to help me out ?

I've written something that does this with FSHost servers. It provides real-time updates (every 60 seconds) of aircraft information (pilot name, aircraft type, position, altitude, heading, speed, and status) and displays it all in Google Earth. You don't have to have anything other than Google Earth - everything is processes and served out from my server.
You can check out a demo of it at the Round-The-World Race Tracker tool that I've built for the upcoming RTW race - http://smithplanet.com/rtw/ Just click on "View real-time multiplayer map" for one of the teams and find a server that has pilots online and then click the Google Earth link to view details. Here's a screenshot:
If there's interest, I'll probably make a version that allows you to track any FSHost server.
If you log in, I've done lots of other cool things with Google Earth, like flight plan previews and the ability to Fly To any airport in the world with a click of a mouse using Google Earth. Play around and let me know how it works.
