Tower View

A few days ago somebody posted a question about the KBUR Tower View (or lack thereof). There is a very nice tutorial available at Simviation that explains how to change the tower view. Very well written tutorial, even I could undeerstand it.

You might want to also try a great program (freeware ) called GET TOWER VIEW. I found it on the file section and have been using it for a few years now. You can set the tower view by degrees, distance and height of the tower with the click of the mouse. Very good program

Hi guys,
I was the one with the KBUR issue.
I managed to change the tower view from the default afcad file, and edit the view, to the correct location.

Another simmer here had also make an afcad file with the tower view.

I did some experimenting with AFCAD, and it is really simple to change the views,parking places and start locations..

The one problem I had was that I had a custom scenery for KBUR, that added another tower altogether. This was not the cause of the view being not there. KVNY was also in the wrong place.

If I slewed to the actual tower, and placed the plane right inside the windows, I could write down the coordinates, then place those in AFCAD. The view thru the windows was not good however, so I opted to go a little higher in altitude, thus giving a clear view.

I have not tried the Get Tower View or read the tutorial at AvS i m yet but I will. Sounds interesting.
