Hello all,
I, for one, is completely thrilled to see the release of SGA's MD-80 - a popular aircraft that is a rare find in the simulation world.
Can anyone help me locate a quality and realistic panel for this aircraft, that works with FS2004. It appears that each MD-80 panel I download and install gives me "errors" on startup due to some incompatibility with gauges or .dll files.
Can anyone help with this problem?
Thank you.

Look for Leon Seale's fine fs9 revision of Paul Golding's excellent panel. The file name is gsmd80fs9.zip over at AVSIM; I assume it can be found here at Flightsim as well, but probably under another file name.

Kevin:
Check out FSNordic.net . They have a panel by Samuli Sutinen that is really very good. Many of the systems are operational. Make sure that you get the FS2004 version.

LOL!!! Yet another reincarnation.....shame there's no credit given for the origin of the panel bitmap - like it's only the part of the package you spend 90% of the time looking at! :-(

I always had my suspicions about it but you've confirmed them!!!

Paul, your panels are excellent, you know that. And I can't wait
for your 727 over at dreamfleet.

This is definitely the next aircraft I'm buying! Can't wait until she's ready.

Bill,
That is indeed a nice panel. I tried to access the authors website for a manual for this panel, but the site is not there anymore. You wouldn't have such a manual, would you ?

i checked it out and i cant semm to get the apu or engines to start the external power dosent seem to do anything along with alot of others but not being to start the engines seems to be the biggest problem and all the alarms going off when i load it hot on take off and cant under stand what its saying it sounds like spoilers but they are up..
i am useing YET ANOTHER modified version of paul's panel this one i think is very good md82ita02 i found it at avsim it is a part of the md82 analog'rolex' put together by Roberto Macrì
and he quotes,
"Passion for this marvellous aircraft brought me to create this package containing the best of freeware to assemble the Mad Dog in Alitalia and Meridiana livery. Mainly I modified the original Paul Golding's MD80 analogue panel to fix some small bugs and add several improvements. SGA MD83 model, Nick Needham's smoke effects"
........so he gives credit where credit is do .......
i use this panel with the new sga md 80 and i CANNOT STOP FLYING THIS FREAKING PLANE. i have flown from coast to coast and back agian
on my virtual routes.it does have some minor bugs and the wing views have something weird looking in them(i think the engines) which make them useless i would rather have the cockpit windows visibitly is rather poor but none the less a great panel..

i have yet to buy a plane this one i might consider...
i have a tough time justifying (*sp) spending more on a plane then i
spent on the program to run it( dont know what this will cost based on some of the others ive looked at) but this one looks good

Sorry guys I do not have a manual for the panel. What I would suggest is to download the DC-9 21/41 panel from Stellan Hilmerby and use that manual. The procedures are very similar. As for the warning before take off this is most likely due to not "arming" the spoilers. This is necessary for the proper operation of the autobrake RTO mode. Hope this helps. If I can help any more let me know or send me a PM.
Bill
Bill,
Thanks for your reply. I will check out the manual from that panel. About that warning sound: It happens to me when I do have the spoilers armed. Perhaps it is a combination of armed spoilers and autobrakes RTO. I'll give that a try.

I have the manual that Samuli complied sometime ago, and can email if you wish. It was posted on his website but this no longer seems to be up. Regarding the alarms during takeoff, I found that the flaps and spoilers alarms went off even though I had activated them correctly. This was fixed by slight adjustment to the aircraft.cfg setting for flaps (which is explained in his manual). I must say this seems to be an excellent panel for the MD80's.

Warren,
Can you please send me that manual by PM please. Thanks.
