Greetings,
Tried to install the patch but immediately got the message "Update Error Type:9." The installation was terminated without further comment. I can't find any reference to what this may mean. Any ideas? My FS2004 installation is pretty ordinary, I think: lots of add-ons, mostly aircraft, mesh and scenery, but nothing exotic. I've never installed the cracked .exe file but I installed a new copy of the original just in case, to no avail. I have the lastest FSUIPC.
So I tried to install a clean second instance of FS from the original disks but apparantly that's a no-no because the only options available on the opening screen of the install program were to RUN the sim or UNINSTALL it.
What to do? I don't want to unistall FS if I don't have to. Do I have to?
