Did anyone install it and how does it help fs9 if it helped? What about overall? Worth it or not from 9.0b? Thanks!

Great to hear that at least things didn't become worse. ;-)

No, not at all. Iīve tested every single game I have installed, and have found no problems at all anywhere: BFV, COD, Collin Mcrae 4, FS9, Lomac, IL2 FB, etc...

well it is good news for me, still find the 45.23 drivers the fastest and best for my old card but the new directx seems to have given me a slight increase in frame rates and clarity (not that big but better than a loss), but to me the greatest plus is i now can run FS2002 without the texture corruption in the 2D cockpits that has dogged me for years.

Same here. No problems but a deffo increase in performance for me. Especially noticable in the virtual cockpit. :D

possibly a slight improvement in the speed of switching views which would suggest some improvement in the memory handling and page flipping routines.

I agree with the memory handling, i rarely get any blurred out (I mean really blurred out) textures using DX.9.C

I've heard fom a co-worker that the new ATI and nVidia drivers are out for use with DX9.0c. If that's true (haven't checked yet) the full benefit might be better realized with these new drivers.

Yeah I got the new nvidia drivers shortly after I installed Dx9c and I too noticed an improvement in the speed of textures loading. Things just seem a titch snappier overall. And I've re-installed 9.0b a couple times over the months too so I don't think its just a case of a clean directx install cuasing the improvements. Certainly haven't noticed any negatives anyway...

This is the latest I could find and I don't see anything about ANY Direct X version support, 9.0b, 9.0c or otherwise. I'll have to ask the guy where he saw or heard about these supposed new ATI Catalyst drivers.
http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/winxp/radeonwdm-xp.html?type=xp&prodType=graphic&prod=productsXPdriver&submit.x=8&submit.y=7
EDIT-> OK, found a Catalyst 4.8 BETA at Guru3D...think I'll hold off on that.
