Co-pilot and WideFS

I suggested a co-pilot feature for FS2006. In thinking about it can't it be done now using WideFS?

If I am using a second computer to run FS a display side views and such can't that second computer have a joystick attached and provide input in a manner that a co-pilot could.

And if that it correct..

If this would work on a local network would it work on a connection with someone across town or wherever?

Some of Lago's ex ppl are working on it as we speak. A co-pilot using multiple computers, and i don't even think it needs widefs.
