Hi,

After anxiously waiting, I've just received my RD4-DC3 CD from MAAM. I placed it into my CD drive and no files can be read. I tried another drive and still no luck. There are no apparent scratches or other visible damage on the disk. I tested both drives with several other CDs and there were no problems. It almost seems as if the disk is blank. I emailed MAAM but no reply yet. Is anyone else having this problem?

Maybe it's a DVD?

Nope, it's not a DVD. I just got mine, too and tried it in one of our computers here at work. It showed the files on the disc, but then the computer froze. I tried it on a second computer and the installer appeared to work fine, but it seemed to take a while for the CD drive to recognize the disc.

All I can guess is that they're using a really cheap brand of CD, or they're writing the CD's on a crappy burner, or they're writing at an overly high speed.

Now I get to go home and see if it works there. - Matt D.

Hi Charlie,

I was just speaking with one of the other MAAM-SIM team members who was at the WWII Weekend show with Bill Rambow, and he said they had another case where a CD was bad. This might be the case with your problem as well. I'd suggest that the best course of action would be to bring this up on the official MAAM-SIM forum at http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=173. I know Bill is working quite hard to make sure that the CDs get shipped out, but I'm sure he'll want to get your problem resolved as quickly as possible and get you flying.

thanks,

No problem here. Installed and works fine. Looks like a real keeper IMHO.

Good luck:
