Engaging GPS when no NAV/GPS switch on panel

A newbie question.
How do I engage GPS in autopilot mode on airplanes that have GPS but no NAV/GPS switch that lets me use GPS in autopilot?
Does anyone know how to do this?

FS2002/FS2004 - Settings Assignments - NAV1/GPS ON/OFF - nothing assigned so figure out a key combination or joystick button and assign it.

Add a NAV/GPS switch to your panel. Use an aircraft of similiar size, view the panel.cfg file for the NAV/GPS switch and copy the information to your panel.

Alias a panel to your aircraft that has the switch.
