Who did europeans desire to be "liberated" by in 1945? The Red Army or the Americans. History gives the only clear answer, no room for dispute.

One helluva a lot of cemetaries in Europe filled with YANKS to secure and REsecure freedom in war for others.
Germany could not even keep the society together long enough to get into space, nor could they recognize the NON POLITICAL nature of science. A fact I am eternally grateful for.
America is great BECAUSE of her diversity and unity, not in spite of it.
Only the USSR and the USA were available to liberate anyone, with a nod to the Aussies and the Brits and Filipinos and...
Again some folks should be VERY glad NOT to have been "liberated" by the Red Army, more over after the way the people of Russia had been treated when things were going the Fascist's way.
America tried really hard to stay out of both wars, but we always try to stay out of war, then some danged fool makes it our business and soon defeated people cry and/or die. Same old war for all recorded time.
We had war forced on us. Hitler declared war, and the Japanese attacked in the reverse order. Let the sleeping giant sleep.
Even with America's gaffs and failings I prefer to be of this heritage than ANY other.
Seeing so many ungrateful people, it should teach the USA leave it all be, no matter the evil fate. So easy to forget for some. After being handed security paid for by someone else's blood.
Those alive then don't forget, that's is my own personal experience even with former enemies. Must be the "living memory" as opposed to ignorance.
Who fed Europe after the war and rebuilt the economic base? It was NOT Reich Marks or Deutsche marks or Ruples or Francs or Lire, it was dollars, US Dollars nearly totally. Still UN-repaid dollars of debt.
Two liberations one on top of the other, one paid in blood and the second in dollars and humanity. All forgotten now. OK Fine.
Some just showed their own humanity or the lack there of didn't they.
But then again America KNOWS not to ask anyone for liberation. We do that for ourselves.
You may prefer to think we didn't go to the moon, but we did undoubtedly free the world with some help from our allies and the footprints in the lunar soil are American.
We also know what is to be expected when one looses a war.
I just wish the next time the world ignites and needs "liberation" America yawns and says: Nah, twice is enough. Let someone else be the global cop this time.
