Having used FS2000 & FS2002 Pro' editions, I have just purchased the 2004 version. It seems to install ok, but when I select to start-up the start-up screen just sits like it's frozen & my Task Manager is telling me that it's not responding, so I have to "End Task"!

I have tried to start it doing the Safe Boot method and also downloaded a new Driver for my graphics card, but to no avail. I even un-installed & re-installed, also no difference.

My system is running the following:

Packard Bell i-Media
AMD Athalon 2600+
768 DDR SDram
60 Gig drive
NVidia G-Force4Ti 4200

Any ideas please fellow simmers?

Thanks

Just a thought - during installation, did you shut down all other programs, including anti-virus?

You could also download the latest DirectX from Microsoft. I solved it for a few people here...

Yep, everything off including Anti-virus.

I forgot to mention that I'm running Windows XP Home Edition.

The latest DirectX9 I believe is on the disc to load anyway I think.

I just checked tha Microsoft updates site & there is a "b" version of DirectX9 where the disk has the "a" version, so I'll give that a try.....Cheers... :-)

XP Home edition should not be a problem. How's your free disk space?
Is the dive formatted NTFS? Have you tried a minimum install
