In fs9 can the .cfg be deleted and when restarted it will build a new one? In FS2002 I used to save the .cfg file on my desktop when installing new drivers etc., delete the .cfg file in FS2002. Then I would put back any tweeks I had done in the new .cfg.

With FS9 this does not seem to be working, Any screwups in .cfg i've done after rebooting are still there.

Another irritating problem I am having is that when changing views to full display I loose my control panel at times. If I use the W key I end up with the bottom of my screen black. If I play around between views sometimes it will come back.

Just a couple of problems that are pssssn me off with FS9. There are more mostly with the ease of multiple monitor that was great in FS2002, but M$ had to screw it up.

Hey, Don --

Yes, if you delete the fs9.cfg, FS9 will create a new version of this file when you next launch FS9.

Hi Chummy

Thanks for the reply, But it does not seem to work for me. Maybe it's because I moved my fs9.cfg onto my desktop out of the "Flight Simulator Files" in "my documents" that nothing is changing. I will copy it back in and try again.

Thanks Don

why not just rename the original, then start FS and it will create a new one.
I did that so i would have two cfg files; one for IFR, one for airliners. (The one for IFR has display settings at max.) They are named fs9ifr.cfg, and fs9vfr.cfg. Which ever one i want to use I just rename "fs9.cfg".

Hi kc10, thanks for the reply I will remember to try that next time. I ended up deleting .cfg file off desktop and uninstalled fs9. After reinstalling my control panel seems to be ok in full screen so far. I was getting frustrated and took drastic measures but probably for the best.

Just have to figure out the tweeks I had in cfg. and put them back in. One good thing though after reinstall my add on aircraft were still there.
