i don't use ati, but had a look out of interest. there is one thing that would concern me if i used one though, it says that the D3D and Open GL settings have been combined into one tab. Open GL and D3D have different requirements and need different settings. this creates a problem with Nvidia cards, making it nessesary to use a 3rd party utlity that allows seperate settings for each format. otherwise it is a case of reconfiguring the vid card before running a game or putting up with poor craphics in one or both. does ATi have a utility that allows for finetunning of the graphics in the same way as riva tuner does for nvidia?
as an example, Open GL does not need AF, whereas D3D does. there are many other settings that differ.

ATI is suppose to have game specific settings. You will be able to run any game at different configurations without having to adjust the control panel. Looks like that's been implemented in 3.8. It was widely discussed. It's not clear what they did with FS9 menu blinking.

Sorry dude, but it's not resolved. I'm not even sure what they're referring to in the release notes, but the menus still flicker spastically on my system in 1280x1024. In fact, I see no real difference in these new drivers. Sigh.
It's just a cosmetic thing. The settings are still completely separate.
