I'm running FS9 using a NVIDIA GeForce 4 Ti4200 with AGP8X. I have a serious screen-flicker problem which I can seem to resolve. I'm using the latest driver, have changed all display settings to test, etc. without any positive result.

Any solutions?

Thanks

Have you updated your MOBO controller chip drivers, i.e., Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi? What screen resolution and vertical frequency are you using with your monitor?

Yes, I have all the latest drivers installed. I'm running 1024 X 768 X 32 at 75hz.

No matter what I set the refresh rate to, I still have the flicker problem. I have uncheked the "Transform and Lightning" box, as this feature REALY made the flicker problem even bigger.

When running FS2002 on the very same machine this problem never existed.

Again, any help highly appreciated.

Yep, I have a GeForce Ti4600, and I'm getting the same flickering. The flickering only seems to affect Autogen or actual polygon objects such as buildings, bridges, trees etc. The effect is greatly minimised using 4XS AA mode but the performance hit is too great to be able to run in this mode. The funny thing about this is when I first got FS2004 a century of flicker, and installed it, it ran fine with no flickering at all, but I was reading that people had been getting much better peformance with the 30.82 drivers, so I installed those and thats when the flickering started. I did a driver roll back, no difference. I then did a total windows XP reinstall, using the original 44.03 drivers that worked, but I still get the flickering. Ive tried everything I know to get rid of the problem with out any joy.

On that same page check or uncheck (depending on what it is currently set to) "render to texture"

Try turning mip mapping down to 4.

As stated below.. turn Mip mapping down to 4 and select Trilinear.
T&L on and AA off in the sim.

For best visuals on a Ti4200: 2xAA and 4xAniso filtering selected in the card properties (not in the sim).
30.82 drivers (use Rivatuner to set AF) and 1280x960x32.

Also make sure you do not get 60 Hz video refresh (!) lock it at 85 or such in Rivatuner.
