View Full Version : Parking at airports

Someone recently pointed out that there is a line in the aircraft files which tell the aircraft what type of stand it should park at. Since then I've looked and looked but I'm damned if I can find any reference, anywhere.
Would someone like to re-iterate this for me?

Look in the aircraft.cfg file for the Cessna Caravan. You'll find this line:
I don't know what all the choices are, and they will vary with the airport, but when you select an airport, there are choices for where you want to start. That would be a good place to look for some possible names to try.

Something to play around with.

Another important one can be found in the default 747-400 aircraft.cfg under the entry for the cargo version: atc_parking_type=Cargo.

You can try the following:
RAMP, CARGO, GATE, DOCK, MIL_CARGO, MIL_COMBAT
Remember the corresponding parking spots would have to be available at the airport for these to work. If missing, your aircraft will probably disappear after landing just like when all the paring spots are full.
