I feel like a complete dunce at the moment, I have had ACOF since the day it came out and I never noticed that the Terminal at KSTL ( my home airport ) is completely missing. I checked my sons computer, just to make sure that I hadnt screwed something up on mine and its not there on his either.
Then layout of the airport is correct, for the most part, But the big green terminal building is completely missing.
My question. The terminal building is present and accurate in 2002. IS it possible to import the scenery files from 2002 without messing up 2004? I have put in a lot of time with panels and sound mapping and aircraft.. I really dont feel like doing it all over again. IF I mess up my current install, I will have to reinstall. Id rather not do that.

Are your scenery sliders turned all the way up?

You shouldn't have any problems installing 2002 scenery, as long as it's GMAX. The problem with airport sceneries is the AI traffic. Until someone develops a new AFCAD utility, AI will be all over the place. I've had no problem installing terrain mesh from '02, but I'll wait for AFCAD before I load my airports.

Thanks for the reply, Kyle.
Yes, all of my sliders are maxxxed out.
Im still averaging about 20fps. I have to have done something
but Im not sure what. The only thing that I did was download the new traffic tools and changed one of the aircraft. I didnt change any of the scenery files themselves.
Its not really that big of an issue because the runways are correct and everything else. Im very happy with the sim for the most part.
After all, its all about whats in the air, right?

There is a terminal in KSTL inmy sim, but it is not green. Looks like stock FS building textures, single storey.
As to importing FS2002 scenery, you just have to try it to see. I think about 90% of it seems to import just fine, gmax and FSDS both. My scenery is made using EOD and Groundmaker, which also are holding up just fine in FS2004 with a few exceptions, mostly transparnecy problems with older textures and we seem to have lost some ability to call macros from library .bgl's (NovaLib.bgl is notable for this issue).
I recommend you give it a try. It is unlikely to cause any harm to your PC or installation and can be removed later if you don't like the result. You may also have to add an exclude switch to the scenery.cfg but that is easy and I'd be happy to help you with that if you need it (would be because the default buildings overlap your installed scenery).
Good luck,
Kyle

I will try the import on my next set of days off. Yes, there is a terminal at KSTL, but its not THE teminal. The shape of the concourses is right but go back to FS2002 and that is what the real STL airport looks like. Not only that but I noticed last night that the tower is sitting right in the middle of one of the gate areas.
Again, this really shouldnt be an issue because of all of the great features and improvements in FS9. I know they couldnt take the time to make each and every airport exactly like the real thing, but as much work as they did on some of the "major" airports, it would be nice if they could make some of the other "semi-major" airports look just as good. If nothing else, just keep the same scenery files as with 2002.
Thanks again, Kyle
