Wonderful it was to have my buddy hook up a 18" lcd on my computer last weekend... set resolution way high.. sure enjoyed that...
However, now when I hook up my 17" monitor, the resolution / refresh rate is to high, and the monitor does not display!!!
So the question is - how can I reset the display without running fs9?
Edit a cfg file or?????????
Thanks in advance
Craig

You'll find an entry in the FS9.cfg file that looks something like this:
[DISPLAY.Device.RADEON 9800 PRO .0]
Mode=1280x960x32
Filter=0
It will have your video adapter listed and the default fullscreen resolution. Just change the Mode= line to whatever you want it to be. Or, just delete, or rename, the FS9.cfg file and the program will build you a new one when it restarts.
If the problem is that the display won't work at all, boot into Safe mode, go to Device Manager, delete the monitor, and reboot.

Thanks for the reply!
However, I show no such file in my 2004 install....
I have looked at all the .cfg files (for fear I missed something), and I find nothing.
Help!

Because it's not there. Look in C:\documents and settings\user\application\data\microsoft and don't ask me why.

Very good!
I have also found thru start button, programs, microsoft games, flight sim 9, troubleshooting, reset defaults.
Thanks all
