Hi!

This regards use for FS 2002/2004.

I asked opinions on the ATI Radeon 9700 PRO before, but received
contradictory judgements.
Some said it is very good, others stated that the image quality
is blurry and shaky at times.

I am seriously interested in upgrading from my GF 4200 Ti 64 MB
to a better card, but I get confused.
Maybe the GF 4600 is a better card?

My setup: 2.53 gHx P4 1 gig RAM.

Grateful for serious remarks and advice.

My aim is better framerates and better image quality.

Thanks!

If you want an unbiased opinion, then listen to me.
I have used, Voodoo 3's, Geforce MX440's, and Geforce 2 TI'. I recently switched to ATI in my latest upgrade, and will not go back to NVIDIA or anything else.
The first time I uploaded my sim, and I didnt see a single jaggy or broken line, I was just amazed.

Switching to a more powerful Video card will only give you more FPS if you use alot of AA and AF. What do I Recommend?
The Radeon 9700 Non-Pro. The Pro version, is like another hundred or 70 bucks, and you will get about 5% more performance.

There are currently Radeon 9700 Non-Pro's on pricewatch for only $208:

PowerColor XR97-C3L ATI R9700 128MB DDR 8X AGP Video Card (Retail Box) AGP 128mb RADEON 9700

MSI Ti4600-TD8X 128MB DDR 8X DVI/TV AGP VGA Adapter (Retail Box) AGP 128mb

The Ti4600 8X AGP is $204 dollars.

If you look at the benchmarks, the 9700 Pro (non pro is essentially Identical, most people couldnt even tell the difference), crushes the 4600 in benchmarks, and these 2 are the same price!:
