could someone please give me the lowdown on some of the other fs programs mentioned here...e.g. fs5, fs9, etc. sorry for such a stupid question but i'm not aware of the "history" of flight simming and the ton of software out there...all i have known is fs2000 and fs2002. what's the next best sim program to fly?

thanks,
carl

Go here for the whole story: http://simflight.com/~fshistory/fsh/start.htm

This website is dedicated to the history of (Microsoft) Flight Simulator, starting with
the early times of FS1 for the Apple II (1979) and TRS-80 (1980) by Bruce Artwick (subLOGIC)

many thanks CapMason!

the link below gives a great chronology of flight sim:

http://simflight.com/~fshistory/fsh/timeline.htm

...and now i see that it gets confusing when people refer to a FS program by version number instead of the name it's marketed under.
at the above link, i see that FS7 is actually FS2000 and FS8 is FS2002...now i understand.

thanks again,
carl
