FS2004 splash screen appears, then nothing happens

That says it all, really. Installation went OK. When starting FS2004, I get a message saying that my video card doesn't have enough memory, so the program will use software mode. The splash screen appears, the hourglass reverts to the cursor arrow, and that's it.

I am running Athlon 1.7, 512Mb RAM, Voodoo 5500, W98SE.

Tried re-installing FS2004, but same thing happens.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Voodoo cards were excellent cards, but I am afraid that you can't use this card for FS2004.
