View Full Version : DC-3 -- two questions
1) I couldn't find a control for the DC-3 cowl flaps. Is there one?
2) When the master switch of the ancient Auto Pilot is turned on, MUST the plane turn to whatever heading is dialed into the directional gyro? Or is it possible to override that particular action while retaining some of the Keyboard controls, like (CTRL-Z) or (CTRL-V)?

Anthony,
The cowl flap controls on the DC-3 are located on the panel with the flap and landing gear handles. They are on the lower right of that panel. Just a couple of knobs side by side. It took me a while to notice them too. There are cowl flap controls located on the right hand side by the copilot's window in the virtual cockpit (red and green knobs), but I can't seem to get them to work in the VC.
As for the autopilot, I'm not sure about trying to overide the Sperry autopilot. I've just been using the heading selector knob on the upper right. Works fine for me.

I'd like to know:
The only "autopilot" feature that I found in the DC-3 is the heading selector. Is there an altitude hold selector somewhere? I doubt it, but I want to make sure...

The right half of the AP window is the attitude selector.
