In real life, in order for the Garmin 500 to have weather display capability, the aircraft must be equipped with Garmin's GDL-49 satelite receiver, and the owner must subscribe to Echo Flight's weather service. And for traffic detection, it must be linked to a suitable TCAD device.
So actually, Microsoft developed the Garmin 500 right on. It comes with the same functionality that you would get right out of the box in real life.
