Instead of eliminating Meigs, why don't you actually model it as it is. Broken and destroyed. I really think that Meigs ought to stand out as an example of the assault on GA in this country by politicians who don't understand it and who have agendas that are anti-GA.

For years lovers of Meigs have been supporting Microsoft FS and unlike the WTCs which were deleted presumably out of sensitivity and the desire to be accurate, you would offend NOBODY but Mayor Dailey by including a photo real Meigs with wrecked runways. It would be absolutely accurate and remind everyone just how precious and exposed out nation's airports are to nefarious anti-GA folks.

Thinks about this, I think it would be very well recieved...

I agree with Todd, MS should represnt Meigs as it is today, with a runway destroyed. But I wouldn't worry about it too much if this never happens. I am sure a crafty scenery designer will take care of that problem in no time.

It is still there in the gold version, but Seattle is now the default. Meigs was still the default in the beta version. I wish they had left it that way.

Meigs is clearly a special case, due to it being such an important part of Microsoft Flight Simulator for so many years. What would be really nice would be to see Microsoft offer some support for the groups like Friends of Meigs Field that have been fighting for so many years to keep the airport open.

the default location is now Seattle Tacoma Internation Airport (KSEA).

This is exactly what everyone tried to tell Daley and the powers to be. If the small GA stuff can't be at Meigs then it has to be somewhere. Its a wonder no one has been killed because of Daley's actions.

Offend Mayor Dailey??? Todd, you are joking of course. The typical serf...er....citizen ...er..voter...yah that's it, can no more offend Der Mayor than you can hurt the Rockies by running into them with your plane.
We had a similar sort of government in Albany NY when I was a kid. If you didn't toe the party line and belong to the proper party, snow didn't get removed, trash picked up and the streets and sidewalks would resemble Berlin in 1945. Its all about power with him.
What would be nice is to have one of those scenery files that change depending on the time. Set the clock to before it was razed and you have it in all its glory. Come midnite on the day of destruction, and Meigs runway gets destroyed.

That's just a few, it would take a lot of work with triggers plus, i'm guessing with all the "triggers" they'd have to add, and with the scenary before and after it would increase the game size quite a bit.
