Good day to all of you,

I was reading through this new forum, and realized that I haven't read this question yet. It is one that I am kind of worried about.

Is there anything being worked to have certian important utilities able to be used with 2004? What I mean is, I can move all my PAI planes and stuff to 2004 and I am sure that they will show up on my aircraft menu, but will TTools be able to be manipulated so it will change the traffic.bgl of 2004, or is there going to be a new version made, or what? Same with AFCAD? I am not aware of the ability for the average run of man to go in and change the settings in these programs to make them change FS2004.

AI is my baby when it comes to my Flight Sim, and I would love to be able to transfer what I have in 2002 to 2004 without having to rework 2004 from scratch and spend all the time that I did on 2002. I know that soon enough there will be more utilities than we can shake a stick at for 2004, but does anyone know if these things are in the works now? (pardon my impatience :-) )

Frank Cuibillos, of Project AI, has run Ultimate Traffic on his copy of FS2004, and it has worked. So it appears that the tools currently available should work, although they may need a bit of tweaking.

Still, I'm wondering if AI traffic will use parallel runways if available. I would love to get rid of my overlays. :-)

From what I've read, ACOF will utilize multiple runways, although that may not nececarrily mean parallel. I've got my fingers crossed at any rate.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-21-03 AT 01:00PM (EDT)[p]Thanks guys!

JC. Did he have to do anything to TTools that you know of to get it to manipulate 2004? I guess my concern is that TTools seems to know where the file is in 2002. Will also know to look for the traffic file in 2004? Because TTools was made to find the file in 2002. I know this will all come to light when 2004 is finally released, and this question might be premature, but it was something on my mind.

When it comes to programs, I am good on how to use them, but I really don't know anything about how they are built. Sorry.

Chances are...

If the current versions of AFCAD and TTools are not fully compatable with FS-COF, then the author of these programs will release a new version which will be compatable in pretty short order after the release.

Hi,

On other posts I have read, Lee has said that TTools is no problem. AFCAD may not be updated, since FS2004 AFD's are not in separate files anymore, but are incorporated into the scenery BGLs using new codes. He hopes that scenery design programs will add that capability.

Hope this helps,

Well like you, AI is my baby too. Now so far what I know is this
1. Ttools works fine... though you have to trick it a bit. You have to copy the traffic030528.bgl file in Scenery/World/Scenery and put it in the Scenedb/ATC/Scenery folder where traffic.bgl lies in FS2002. The reason is Ttools wont detect FS2004. I renamed traffic030528 to traffic.bgl but people say it works under its own name also. I had the AI flight plans, I imported all FS2002 AI addons to FS2004 ...remodeled the flight plans as I wanted and it all worked except....

2. AFCAD and FSUIPC dont work...so you cant add or remove gates or taxiways etc....no solution to that so far.

3. None of the plug-ins work..like Active Camera, AIView , etc etc...but FS2004 tells you that they are not compatible and gives you the option of disabling them one by one.

4. FS 2004 gives you much improved options with ATC as compared to FS2002. E.g. You can request another runway for take-off or landing.. you can request enroute altitude changes also you can request alternate destination airports.

These are significant improvements..and FS2004 would be just perfect for AI operations if AFCAD and FSUIPC started working. I was hoping FS Scenery Creator would work too...but that didnt either.
