I have FS 2k2, a boat load of D/L scerey, Planes, Ect..
My question is around installing FS2004.
I know when I tried ti uninstakk Fs 2k2 so that I could reinstall it in an effort to get rid of some D/L's that where not frame rate friendly, that no matter what I did when I reinstalled it, the D/l"s where still there.
Would a system restore to the date before I installed FS 2k2 on a new system be the trick to insure a nice install of FS 2004?
I just wabt the new sim to start out as solid as it can.
Thanks.
Mark.

Hi Mark,
You dont need to wipe all of your system clean to insure a nice install although it would be the best way to make sure fs2004 worked as intended.
When you uninstall fs200n then its only the original files that get removed, the main fs200n folder is still left behind aswell as any other addons or downloads that may reside in that folder or its directories so you have to manually go in to the folder and either delete the whole folder or just delete the addons or files that you dont want to keep.
When you re-install FS the fs200n folder that was there previously is not written over instead it just gets added to with anything the new install of fs adds to it.

The bottom line as I read it is to uninsall then go find the 2k2 folder and deleate it, then instakk FS2004.
Or the new computer is only rwo weeks old I can return it then install on a new unit.
I think I will stick to the first choice.

Yeah 1st choice alot easier but i meant if you had had your comp for a while now then it would be better to format the hard drive and install everything from a fresh start, all drivers for hardware etc...then DX9.0 then fs2004, doing it this way would definatly ensure that fs2004 was gonna behave itself:-)

So I should be good to go since it is only a few weeks old.
I can uninstall and get rid of the folder and it should be fine. I hope Ive got it.
THanks.
