Rey Lopez says in his B-36 download that the user will have to download propellers from another file. Does anyone know the url to that file? I would really appreciate having the url if you know it.
Thanks,

Hi,
What he might have neant is that you will need to find the bmps of the prop itself. I have not read the file for that plane. Prop images are sometimes included, but if this one does not have them you will need to find another plane with similar size prop bitmap images, then include them in the texture folder.

{erhaps someone else will join in here, because that's the only thing I can think of. Unfortunately, Mr. Lopez has passed away, so maybe someone else will know what needs to be added.
Good luck
Gary

Gary,
Thanks for the response. Another simmer found the same problem I did in locating the props for this plane. I hope someone will eventually answer that found a solution to this problem. My dad worked on the B-36 and B-47 in Ft Worth at Carlswell AFB at the time that James Stewart was making the film, Strategic Air Command.

Hi Kittyhawk,

I am sorry I can't help more on locating props. Perhaps the other simmer will find the answer.

That is so cool that your dad worked at the same base as the movie was being filmed. I thank your dad and others like him for their service to the country.

Strategic Air Command is one of my favorite movies regarding flying. The original Flight of the Phoenix was another, although being a fictional movie.

The most memorable part on SAC was the shots of the B-36, with it's pusher props. I had always admired this plane, just the way it was designed, the crew who flew them, and the sheer size of the plane.

Well take care, and in the meantime, if I find something on the props, I will let you know.

Hi again Kittyhawk,

I just downloaded the B-36 and there seems to be props included with this plane.
I have the file rlsacb36.zip from Flightsim. If you downloaded somewhere else you may want to re-download from the library.

Am I looking at the correct file? There was a plane for FS8 and one for FS98. There were some panels also in the file section.
Take care, and good luck :)

Gary,
May I ask you to send me the url (webpage) that you downloaded the rlsacb36.zip file. I have downloaded this plane three times and I always get the same result. Maybe there is another download page that the file is different, even though it has the same file name. I am using FS2004, and so far, I have never had a problem using FS2002 planes that I have installed. Maybe, this is the first. Or, did I see that you mentioned that it was for FS98? My file says it is for FS2002.

Hi Kittyhawk,

I downloaded from flightsim.com library.

I also see now why the props are not visible. You are using FS9 and that is a FS8 plane. Some will work ok, but some planes will be missing parts, in this case the props. I don't think there is a solution to this problem.

Where did you see that you would need to 'download props', there was nothing in the readme about it? I was just curious.

The props are made into the model itself and I don't think you can add to an already made mdel file.
The props issue had been discussed before now that I think of it, and there was no resolotion.
Hope this helps.
Take care my friend!

Gary,
I've looked for the site that I read I needed to install the props from another plane. There was some mention about v.c. I believe the periods were after the letters. I know that vc is virtual cockpit. However, I can't locate that site again. I'm still looking. Thank you for the assistance you have given. You are probably right about there being no resolution to my dilemma.
Do you have another plane with push props installed?
Yesterday, I installed an FS98 B-36 just to see how it would react to FS2004. When the engines are fully stopped you can see the props. However, once the engines are running, the props disappear. Only the right part of the tail of the plane has any paint. The rest of the plane, except for the nose cone, is black. The wheels are thin wafers. There was no way to keep the plane in the air. It dropped slowly but in a horizontal attitude.
Thank you again for your help. If I find the site where I saw the mention of the need to use props from another plane or file, I will let you know.
