Hello,

I really need some answers to these questions. Because its starting to get frustrating for me when Im fly Fs2002. Couple days ago I was flying FFX Northwest Airlink Saab 340B from KMSP to KDSM. When I was 6 nautical miles out, I hit my joysticks number 2 button which lowers my landing gear, and I heard the gear sound, and I figured they were down, but when I tried to touchdown, I found out that the gears didnt lower, and they were still up and i skidded on my belly. The same thing happens to my FFX Northwest Airlines DC-9-51 and FFX Super MD80, and my Boeing 757 when I hit the button you hear the gear sounds but the gears stay up, but I found out when I flew the Saab again I went to the spot plane view and I hit the landing gear button 3 times before it actually lowered and the airspeed was like 183 kts. I remember I could hit that button at 300 kts and they would lower with no problem. I never had this problem before, whats causing my gears to stick, how can i solve the problem. Plus the landing gears are sticking when on climb out you raise the gears for some reason the gears stay down till I keep pressing the number 2 button on my joystick, and it finally lifts. How can i solve this problem? My other problem is that I also have a Boeing 757, which when I first used it, the autopilot worked find and then one day when I set the autopilot on the 757, the planes nose dramatically lifted up, and I started stalling on climb outs after takeoffs, I never had this problems before, I tried to lower the Vertical altitude from 1800 fpm to 1200fpm, and I got it to work this way, but when I originally started to use this aircraft it would good on 1800fpm, whats wrong with my autopilot system? How can I fix this? Another problem with my Boeing 757 is that I set my flaps to 5 degrees just like the checklists says, and when I start rolling down the runway, for some reason, the aircraft takes up the whole runway compared to the AI 757s, and when I do get airborne, the airspeed gets to 180 AIS and starts falling, compared to the checklist which says retract flaps at 210 KIAS, and its getting frustrating because I go into a stall that I have a hard time getting out of. Another problem is braking for some reason, my number one button on my joystick, my brake button, for some reason wont work all the time. Example: taxiing out to 12R at KMSP, and when I tried to slow down at intersections, I press my brake button, and nothing happens, yet when I press my . key on my keyboard the plane stops instantly, but the button on my joystick works ever so often, sort of like works one minute and not the other. Whats causing my brakes to fail on my joystick? How can I fix any of these problems, please help!!!!!!

A frustrated FS2002 Pilot,

What kind of stick are you using?

I have a cheap 20 dollar Saitek ST290 stick with 6 buttons and throttle control and it works flawlessly.

Also, check your stick assignment settings to see if you have repeat active, for the gear you don't want that but you do for the brakes.

I use a Gravis Joystick which has 4 buttons. I dont understand on the repeat deal. In order for the repeat to work do I push the bar all the way up or keep it empty. I tried to find info on that on FS2002 help, and I couldnt find anything on what the repeat bars mean. Can you tell me? And that Gravis joystick cost me about the same $20.00. I got it when it was on clearance about 3 years ago. And its worked like a dream until lately.

Hmm, can't help you with the joystick issue, but if you are sick of going to spot plane view to check the gear, look for the lights. Green=Down Red=Moving None=Up

At what speed are you lowering you gear???
1. You should lower your gear at about a speed of 180kts in final aprroach. In a Saab, your approach should be in a lower speed so I would say a good speed for lowering your gears would be at 140/150 kts.
2. 757/DC-9 Landing Gear speed limit is 250 kts, that means a little more and your gear is broken, so please do not lower you gear at a speed higher than 220kts.
3. Flaps work the same, there are certain limits.
4. It would be good for you to check out some a/c limitation handouts.

Have a nice flight!
