I download a file from FS ( Camel_EW)and now all the aircraft in Fs won't respond with any control.I tried to uninstall FS2002 and it will not uninstall. Is there a way to uninstall without using the add/Remove programs. I tried to go to explorer but it can't because file is too large .
Any suggestions to get this fixed?

someone i know had this sort of problem. They found that uninstalling the plane manualy worked. For example removing the files your'e self. It worked. Have you overwritten any folders t oinstall your'e plane. If so leave them. Sorry if i didnt make sence. This is the first time helping someone on this matter.

Hi,
Try to first remove the new plane's folder. Use Windows explorer. You should be able to see all the folders in the FS2002 main folder. Delete the camel, or whatever plane you loaded up before the trouble started.
What happens when you try to uninstall? A message or what? Maybe it just hangs.
You can delete manually the main FS2002 folder. You say you can't use explorer because it's too big of file? I don't understand. Explorer just shows folders in a 'tree' fashion. Select the FS2002 folder and highlight it then hit delete key. Remember, you will still have references to FS in the registry. If you dont know how to remove those leave them alone, it may be ok. Now try to reinstall FS.
There's some freeware registry 'cleaners" on the net, that will allow you to remove items such as entries left over, like you will have with fs2002.
Let us know how you come along.
Good luck!

Hi, Thanks for the reply. To answer your quedtions:\yes , it just hangs. I wait about 5 min. then I give up and try again, with the same results.I finally had to delete FS2002 a section at a time as it would not delete the FS2002 folder alone. I must mention that I had 270 planes in fs2002. I know its a lot and I was in the process of triming out the "Fat"when this made me trim big time.

Hi, Again.
To add to my reply I have to tell you I reinstalled FS2002 again this AM and all went well.I have
already added the Global swift and Bill Lyons cub. I am now being more selective in my downloads.
Thanks again for your help.

Hi Jimmy,
Glad you got it working ok.
Did you know, that in a regular 'uninstall' it will not unininstall anythig you have added? If you had ben able to uninstall, all your added planes would remain. Sometimes this is s porblem when people have had problems, then they uninstall/reinstall, and have the same problems. The reason could be that a new plane may have caused the sim to not work. When they uninstall, the 'bad' plane remains. So in a sense, they have not removed the offending plane. This is also why they say that they have FS2002 folders remaining. They contain files that were not there originally, so they remain.
You have a good start though on ading planes back as Mr. Lyons has some great files indeed! What I do is try a plane, then if I don't like it immediately delete it. No sense to keep it around.
When I 'trim the fat' in my folder I will delete the individual aircraft's folder. I don't worry about the gauges as they don't take up all that much space to leave them there. It will get rid of the plane, panel and sound however. You had a lot of planes in your folder, and sometimes the recycle bin would not hold a large amount of files. I think it asks 'Recycle bin will not hold this large amount of files"... "Do you want to permanently delete...."
Maybe this is why you could not delete the folder all at once.
Ok, well good luck on rebuilding your hanger my friend.
Take care!

Thanks for the good wishes Gary.I went to your link you posted. Looks interesting, only it appears to be only for FS2004.I'm still in Fs2002 and with all I read 2004 is not the end all.
Thanks again.

Hi Jimmy,
Just a quick note. Our site is for FS2002 also.A lot of the files are for 2004, but we try to give support for the older versions too. Just go to the Forum section. We have some 2002 users there, and for myself, I use FS2002 mainly. I have some "financial priorities", and have not been able to upgrade to the screaming machine I'd like to, to run 2004 at the moment.
You are welcome to join us my friend.
Take care and see you later!
