UN-check "Fog Table Support" in yout ATI display.
Reduce visability to around 3 miles with overcast skys.
Best to D/L and install FSUIPC DLL., By Pete Dawson.......Pete's DLL , will do all the work for you, changing visability limits by cloud (Type) and Altitude (Graduated visability) as weather changes while using Real World Weather........AWESOME !

Randy,
I have a 9600pro and unless I'm totally nuts, which is a short putt, I don't see a fog table emulation check. I used to have it in my GeForce display settings. What tab might it be under???? Thanks! :7

Or, in your weather settings/visibility section in the sim, bring down the lower edge of your vis setting to like 1 ft. above msl. You will get rid of it that way as well. But fsuipc does have some nice settings. I use it for low vis settings, but unchuck it's vis settings when I want clear, cloud-to-the-horizon weather. :7

Thanks for the help but I already had FSUIPC installed and I don't have a fog table on my Radeon 7500 control panel. Is there a specific thing that I have to do with FSUIPC?? Maybe that is the problem because all I did is download it and put it in my modules folder and thats it. If all else fails, can someone suggest a SUPER compatible but affordable video card? Thanks again! very much!

Thanks Randy. I'll give it a try. BTW, is your FSUIPC the registered version? I only have the downloaded one from FS.com

No......Just the D/L version...... It will work fine :)
Let me know if you have specific question's on what each setting does.....

Right Guys......No Fog Table ......No Problem........
Even if you want to fly with Global settings in weather, you will get SEVERAL undesirable effects using the manual weather settings in the simulator.......Example > If you set the visibility manually to remove the horizon line while at the airport, you would get terrible effects (3 mile or less vis) once airborne and above the cloud layer........Then compound that by downloading Real World weather (several different weather settings) as you fly from one area to another and well......you have problems.
FSUIPC is the ONLY way to go......it overrides any vis settings you may have set manually in the Sim.
First set your Video Card for best effects under different weather conditions AND aLtitudes USING GLOBAL WEATHER (No FSUIPC).........Then download Real world Weather, Set FSUIPC to control visibility and ENJOY!
It may take several days and flights to hit a happy medium on FSUIPC settings, but well worth the trouble.....
Will post my FSUIPC settings later (have to go to work now)so you have a good baseline to work from......

Hi all! I am sorry to bother you all with this ##### but I really need some help here. First of all, I'll give you my system specs.
I have a 1.7Ghz with 256 MB of Ram, and a 64 MB Radeon 7500 video card.
The problem: When I set the clouds to overcast and the visibility to 10 miles or above, the sun or the moon with be on the horizon depending on the time of day. !!!It is super extra annoying!!! Just check out the screen shot I included. Blargh!
The second problem: The second problem is not as bad as the first but, There seems to be a blunt border separating the fog layer from the overcast skies instead of a smooth transition like I had with FS98 and FS2000. This too is very annoying and very unreal. I am starting to miss FS98 and FS2000. :-( Also, why is there a bright orange sun reflection on my cessna during overcast? Remember FS5 and FS98 when you would turn on the overcast, it would suddenly be darker outside? I can't belive these fools left out such an ancient but necessary technology in FS2K2!
Anyway, if anyone with a similar 3D card can maybe give me some settings or if anyone can maybe help solve this ridiculous problem, it would make flying very fun for me and everyone else with this problem.
THANKS!! :-)
