I posted this request for help last week but didn't get many responses so I'll try again.

I recently got a new computer. I installed FS2002 on the new system and tried to copy over the "Aircraft" folder I had on my old system so I could preserve all the downloads I'd made over the last several months, especially all the AI aircraft I'd downloaded. Problem is that none of the add-on a/c show up in my "Choose Aircraft" screen. I've tried copying over the "Sound" and "Gauge" folder also but nothing different happens. So, I just got done trying to copy over the entire FS2002 folder from my old system to my new one but still nothing different. When I look in the "Aircraft" folder in my new FS2002 install all the add-ons show up but they don't when I've booted up FS2002 and am choosing which plane I'm going to fly. One additional bit of information, my new system has 2 hardrives and I installed FS2002 on the 2nd hardrive.

Why won't this work. I may loose my spirit if I have to go through the several hours of add-ons to get my new FS2002 install playing like I had it on my old system.

Help....

G'Day mate. Sorry to hear about your problems. Im no computer guy...but I guess the only way around it is that you re-install your addons. This may be a lot of work but in the end its worth it.

Maybe someone else is able to shed some light for you.
Goodluck

No wait !!!!!

You said that now you have 2 drives.

So, first of all you must install FS2002 (original version, not yours), in the drive that you have before the new computer, problably the C: drive. Then delete all contends of FS2002 folder, now copy your complete backup of FS2002 in FS2002 folder (C:\Programe Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\). It must be restore to the same drive.

If you put in D: drive, some add-ons don't work.

I houpe that this can help you.

I have a new computer that has 2 HD's. I installed FS2002 on the 2nd HD but can't seem to copy over the "Aircraft" folder from my old computer to my new FS2002 installation on my new computer. It works and all the add-on a/c show up in the "Aircraft" folder but they don't show up in the screen that you choose your airplane you're going to fly.

I did as you did and installed a 2nd drive on my "new" system.
I made sure that my "old" drive was the "D" drive, and my "new" drive was the "C" drive (where I originally had FS2002).

I formatted the new "C" drive and loaded in Win98SE. I then reloaded FS2002 on the new "C" drive (make sure it's in the same drive/folder location that you had it in previously). I then simply copied the entire FS2002 folder from the "old" drive to the "new C" drive.

EVERYTHING showed up and it worked like a champ.

Remember.....if you had FS2002 on the "C" drive...you must reinstall on the "C" drive. You must also install it at the same location as you had previously on the "C" drive. All of the transferred files should work again.
