How do you I back a plane from a gate or parking area? Is there any way to control the backing speed/direction with my joystick like taxing forward?

Press Ctrl+P for pushback

Then press 1 or 2 to make the plane turn left or right but it will only turn after it has travelled the eqivelent lenght of it's body, so plan your turn early.....

There is no way to control the pushback with your joystick....

May bad Alan in FS8 that's how I pushed back just pressing Ctrl+P

Yep, Ctrl+P then 1 or 2 and the plane will turn left or right while pushing back ;-)
