LAST EDITED ON Jul-21-03 AT 11:31PM (EDT)[p]Currently available on the SGA/FFX website and soon to be uploaded to Flightsim.com and the other site. Each package comes with at least one texture set. The packages ending with "PW" and "GE" are the optional sound sets for the DC-10-40 and all other series respectively. Unfortunately the DC-10-40D (JAL Domestic version) has been delayed slightly, however it will be released soon.

The level of expectations has become very high, when your team from FFX/SGA releases new aircraft.
Let me say it right away, these high expectations have been absolutely fulfilled.
You can almost sense the real thing, when its sitting on the Runway, waiting for takeoff.
I would like to say many thanks for this new jewel, which is by far, the best DC-10, at least I have ever seen, for flightsims.
And now its time to go hunting for a panel that can match it, any suggestion`s anyone?
Best regards
S.Jensen

Do all the numbers on the end of each download mean the model of that particular DC-10? I dont know much about the DC-10 Series.
Cheers,

I will have to fully agree....an other incredible piece of "hardware"!!!!! Gives me goose bumps to see the DC10-10 sitting on the button of rwy 26R , Vancouver.....the detail of these planes are excellent! That, coupled with a couple of excellent sound packages, started a great little test hop. Well done guys!!!! She's a handfull on app and short final, ya gotta stay on top of your airspeed. Has the real feel of a heavy also. Dang, now gonna have to build a bigger hanger...these ones are staying!

Yes. The numbers denote the series.
Also, if you want preview pictures, just go into the File Library and look in the newest files section or even better, just use the link off the press release on the front page. Nels and crew did a hurry-up job for this one and got it into the database much faster than we expected.

Im somewhat of an old rookie here.
Ive grown out of touch with the new ways of installing AC on FS2002.
The base files were a cinch, even for me.
However, I cant seem to get the additional liveries to work.
Im sure it has something to do with the way Im editing the cfg file.
I copied the first set of parameter that starts with FLTSIM.0 or something like that. I skip a space and paste. Then changed the .0 to a .1 and changed the texture= to whatever shows up after the texture.XXX on the folder.
Well, I thought that was all there was to it. Apparently Im missing something. Or maybe Im making it more difficult than it really is. Some help in this area would be appreciated as I expect many new liveries will be released.
Thanks
Chris

I have just installed many of the liveries the way you described and all working fine. Here is an example of the aricraft.cfg file for your help (did you remember to change the "ui_variation" if not it will not show up mate):-

Great - fantastic what else can I say? just downloaded the lot plus both sound variations (highly recommended btw).
NOW can anyone recommend a good PANEL to go along with these aircraft?

Delicious DC-10 Series! I downloaded all of them even the sound package incredible add-on! Did some panel hunting and just founda good panel for it at avsim.com.
FFX has done a great job in this DC-10!
here is a panel from avsim its based on the real one..it looks good to me with a few changes like the reality gauges and taxi-pushback gauges..it will be great..

Thanks for the help.... It was the ui variation.
Its amazing how one little line in that config file can screw everything up.

Thanks EMDO - I managed to find the same panel but had some trouble getting the radios to change frequencies - until I read the readme that is (whoops!) - after doing the necessary changes in the aircraft.cfg as per the instructions all now works fine - but I like the look of the panel posted by SANKOY too - must try to find that one as well - I certainly have enough DC-10's to try s few different panels!. They all fly like a dream - great planes!

Anyone know of a published repaint policy for the new 10's? FFX's site is under construction, and I've seen none in the available aircraft for download. I'd like to start posting this first of my repaints of Honolulu's 10 traffic!

this is FS2000 panel by Staffan Ahlberg:
http://hem.passagen.se/primeavi with a fix for FS2002.
I got that, then replaced default FS2000 concorde gauges with those of Staffan's original DC-10 panel for FS98.
I used FS Panel Studio by Flight 1 to edit the thing (easy program).
And now that the DC-10 model is here, I'll continue editing the panel, replacing the autopilot stuff and probably ADI with HSI.

I love DC-10's. Geeze, Leave it to McDonnell Douglas to come up with the only convertable airplane.
Roof Opens...Doors Fall Off...
I found the DC-10-40I Japan Asia Airlines to be too overpowered...and can anyone recomend a better panel. I find these photo realistic panels to be bland...but the cockpit of the 10's did look rather cheap and fibreglassy. Just my opinion though.
Aloha,

I've blended two panels to make this setup ....
The main panel is from Frank Elfert - dc1pfs2k.zip and the surrounding views from José Antonio Moreno - McDouglas DC-10 FedEx.zip which is part of dc10_p.zip
I had to modify the panel.cfg of dc1pfs2k.zip to use the views from the McDouglas DC-10.

Any Fedex liveries yet?

I shall use those side panels too (never knew of it).
do you also use Panel Design Studio? that has to be yet another top notch prog from Flight1.

No, I don't use Panel Design Studio. All I did was to use all the panels except DC10_Main.bmp from the McDouglas DC-10 FedEx.zip file which is inside dc10_p.zip
Then I opened up the panel.cfg files for both those aircraft and copied the necessary bits from the FedEx one to the FFX one, namely for the overhead panel and rear-right and rear-left views.

I'm kinda late with this, but you're wasting paint unfortunately.
As soon as Erick gets back in a couple of weeks, we're finishing up the Freighter models and all the appropriate variants will come with the FedEx colors and I'm sure our painters will take first swing at the old colors too.
We ask, as in the readme, that people do NOT repaint our aircraft until the paint kit is released to give our own painters a chance to paint the aircraft in the liveries that they have spent so much time on and signed up for before the release.
Thanks,
sanyok

>>but you're wasting paint unfortunately
right right, though no one would be wasting paint painting an original 10-10 prototype/demo scheme, the major item, with no intentions to be "not-wasted paint" on! :)
