View Full Version : Why has the real world weather not been updating?

I have noticed in the past few days, every time I get the real world weather for Denver, it has been exactly the same every time. I load up the game and ATIS says 309@6 vis:50 clouds: few at 18400 temp:21 dew:2 alt:30.23
The really weird part is that flew a flight from Fresno (different weather than above) to Denver and when I got to Denver, the weather had changed to what is listed above. Any thoughts?

p.s. This is my first post and I look forward to many more.

welcome to the forums. Microsofts Real weather has given people trouble in the past before. I don't use it. I use either FSMETEO or ActiveSky WXRE.

yeah, I know but I don't want to spend the time with the new simulator coming out in just over a week. Oh well, just thought I would ask.

You call that hot?
KOUN 202011Z AUTO 21010G16KT 10SM CLR 42/16 A2993 RMK AO2
For the metrically challenged, 42C = 108F :o

There have been times in the past when the data on the FS weather server wasn't getting updated. If that's the case, there's nothing you can do about it. There are lots of sites on the internet where you can look up METARs to compare with what Real Weather is saying.

Why do you think that's weird? Even if you've been downloading the same weather each time, it will be different from one location (Fresno) to the next (Denver).

Brian,
We are going to do a FREE update to ActiveSky to allow it to run with FS04.

Actually, I consider myself a Texan stuck in Oklahoma. I may be a Sooner, but I will never be an Okie. :-) And since you brought it up, yes that's in the shade. Temperature measurements are made in the shade so that you get the air temperature and not the temperature of a thermometer with the sun beating down on it. The specific values of temperature and humidity don't really matter in the summer around here. If the humidity drops that just allows the air temperature to get even hotter. The THI reaches an equilibrium of 105F-110F throughout July and August. Fortunately we had an Arctic front move through yesterday, so it will only be in the low 90's today.

You call that hot? At least with Cessnas you get shade from the wings, not to mention the nice big windows you can open. Most of my time is in Pipers. Now that's hot. :-)
