LAST EDITED ON Jun-16-03 AT 05:42PM (EDT)[p]I saw that once before in the Forum but canīt find it now that I need it.
How do I edit the CFG so that I can avoid sthe gears on some planes collapsing when landing ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

But surely you want a realistic sim.. not an arcade style experience.
Thats not what FS2002 is about .. is it?!
Can the magic of flight ever be carried by words? I think not.

You'll have to take that up with microsoft......Those are the Default 747-400 settings......

You use the game how you want.....We'll use the game how we want.

Thanks fo your comments, but thatīs not really the problem.
Actually I wasnīt clear in my first post. I am having problems with some airplanes (notably POSKY 767) where the gear collapses on ALL landings even if I touch with 500 FPM or less. So the question here is not really realism. In fact I just noted hat the settings for the POSKY 767 are 1100FPM for the front gear and 1500FPM for the main gera. I normally land much smoother than that. Iīve just tried it and I landed with some 600 FPM and again it collapdsed. One thing I noticed the gear to collapse (in the main set) is always the farther from the centerline (even if it is still in the rwy).
Any ideas ?

Try unloading some of the fuel,to make the plane lighter.

Thanks for the tip Leon.
It may be that, because I was starting with 100% fuel and making short hops (250NM aprox.). Iīll try and poste the result here later on.

Increase the main set to 2000fpm.........
500ftm is still an awful big thump and landing.......be sure to use full flaps, and flare the A/C just before touch down. Although if landed correctly it shouldn't matter, make sure your fuel level is no higher than say 20% remaining in the all tanks.
There haven't been alot of pilots complain of this problem, so I would tend to think that it is your landing technique, rather than a model error.
Try those, then let us know,

EDIT>>>Leon, your post was not there when I started this one (smile).....Lets hope that help's Sergio.

Randy and Leon
Thanks for the tips it really worked out. It was silly of me to forget that heavies arenīt supposed to land with 98% fuel. I changed th elimit to 2000FPM, set fuel to 15% and did my best to do a greaser and it worked just fine.
I think a 20% fuel limit is probably too low (I mean I guess the model was designed with a higher limit). Iīll exepriment with that later. In theory I guess that if I have MTOW and Maximum Landing Weight for the plane the difference is the fuel you burn so its easy to calculate your max fuel load at landing (of course I donīt know if the model will be at MTOW with max fuel because the palne may be modelled with less than full passenger / cargo capacity, but its still a guidance).
Thanks again and best regards
