Hello,

I can't wait to buy ultimate traffic. However, I was wondering the impact it has on framerate. There are already a few notes about a 'heavy impact'. Can anybody with experience with the programme tell me what the framerate could be considering the following specifications?

-AMD XP, 1,4 ghz
-512 MB DDR Ram
-64 MB DDR geforce 2 GTS pro

Then another question, what are the key commands for framerates in FS2002?

Cheers,
Dirk

Dirk,

Can't help you with UT framerates, as I don't have it, but I can tell you that holding <Shift> and pressing <Z> twice will display your framerates in red in the upper left hand corner (with default key assignments, anyway). Keep pressing <Z> with <Shift> down to see the way the info displays cycle.

Take a look in the ScreenShots forum for some of my posts. The FPS are not hit real hard for me with a similar system. (My cpu is a little stronger--AMD 1.6 o/ced to 1.75 and GF4 Ti4200, 64 meg card). I have everything maxed out except ATC at 75% and visibility at 60 miles.

i found the same thing Darrell...my frame rates took a small hit considering the amount of traffic thats been added. in fact at some mid-sized airports i found my F/R actually were BETTER than before.

what do you think of UT Darrell??

So far? FANTASTIC! Gotta do some tinkering yet, though, to see if I can get my GA aircraft back, and get some defunct airlines to show up. Such as Frontier, the "Original". The new, F9 has lots of traffic, but I'd like to have the "Original" FL flying around.

That's weird, one guy's FPS dropped 15-20 FPS @ the major airports, and he had a 2.2 gig I think, similar rest of specs like you guys...

Tom is going to sort out the issue with GA asap...that was mentioned on the UT forum as well.

Theres a definite hit at the major airports...like heathrow, KORD etc....but nothing more than i expected really considering the amount of traffic thats been added there. I tried to count the aircraft sitting on the ground at Heathrow and couldn't....got too confusing LOL.

i'm running an XP2000, Ti4200, 512 PC2700 combination and it seems to have no real issues

There is an option when installing UT to not include GA AI traffic. I went this route knowing that the GA aircraft are frame rate killers. I have been very impressed with the frame rates without the default GA aircraft. GA aircraft are the show stopped on frame rates in my personal opinion. There is so much traffic now that you won't miss GA aircraft anyways. For you guys with P4 3.06 GHZ systems, add the GA aircraft, other wise wait for the Aardvark GA planes to come out.
