LAST EDITED ON May-28-03 AT 09:17AM (EDT)[p]When you're in an airliner with the a/p on, and the plane makes a turn, do the yokes then move or do they stay immobile?

In FBW planes they don't move but in every other plane, when the yoke is directly connected to the flight controls.

correct me if you have to, this is my experience.

No. And any atempt t movem them disconet the A/P Also throtlles in Airbus don't move in ATH mode. They stay in the gate they have been positioned (CL for most of the flight).

Nice flights,
Mircea.

Depends on the airplane. In most aircraft, the autopilot operates secondary controls (trim tabs, spoilers etc) not the elevator, alerons and rudder linked to the yoke.
